I got an infared remote emitter dongle for my iphone 4S called L5. It works with a free app. It is usable in a pinch and probably better than the magic wand remote, but the best thing would be to bring along a normal remote for another recent LG TV and see if it works. If you have to use the magic remote, hold it with both hands.
