I got an email today from SpectraCal about the Trade-in your old colorimeter for the SpectraCal C6
I am using the old sencore colorpro V for ISF an thinking about updating. I would like to know is the C6 usable for THX calibration or is the unit more for the ISF guys?
The C6 is as usable as the Hubble or the Klein … as in you can’t use it by itself. It has to be profiled with a spectro first.
So in conjunction with a spectro … go right ahead … no spectro .. then not acceptable. Even the $7000 Klein is not acceptable by itself. Has to be profiled with the i1 pro at the very least.
I have decided not to spent money & buy the spectracal C6. I am quilt happy just using my OTC100, hubble to calibrate my DLP rear , SXRB front projectors. When need be using CalMAN 5 Ultimate I think it works nicely with my lumagen radiance units. the phone does not ring anyways… I do send it out to spectracal calibration lab every year..
