I am scheduled to make a trip to pro studio to “try” and calibrate their pro broadcast LCD (TV Logic XVM-245W). At first glance, it does seem like there are some gamma curve options, white balance controls but there are no options for CMS. Is this normal for broadcast monitors? Will it have an accurate color gamut? Also they use BNC connections and my pattern generator (AV Foundry) is HDMI, do you think the signal levels will be different? Do I then check with the AVS HD patterns direct from whatever source they have? They also do colour grading work for SD and HD, I am not sure if the monitor knows how to switch…

I am a little nervous with the pro studios as I do not want to get it wrong. I plan to use the EyeOne Pro only for now as that is the only spectro I have.

Does anyone else have experience with TV Logic pro monitors?

The manufacturer’s web site indicates that model does have one HDMI (HDCP compliant) input [ http://tvlogicusa.com/product/product.php?idx=43 ]. The BNC inputs would include SDI (Serial Digital Interface), which is common in broadcast and pro facilities. That monitor is also 10 bit color capable. I suggest you contact the manufacturer for guidance on calibration requirements. There may be fellow calibrators here with experience on such devices, or over at the ISF Forum.

Thanks Alan. Will check the manufacturer on their recommendations.
