I know it’s a crappy TV so I shouldnt’ expect perfect but the problem I’m having is if my contrast is set about 42 (movie mode) my 100 windows reading is around 8-10 but my Y value is still only 12-13. with my contrast set at 39 my Y value is 10 but rest of readings look good.
Gamma is alittle high but if I adjust any brighter to bring it down to 2.2 my 100 level is way off. is this just something with cheap Vizio’s? or something I’m doing wrong? also I didn’t see anything about service menu on this tv in the thread does anyone know?

Our eyes are adaptive to white to sacrificing 100% white is common enough since very little of what we watch is 100% white anyway. We think blue socks are white too after all. The graph looks decent enough for what the tv brings to the table. You made it better. You are not trying to hit 2.2 gamma anyway … just somewhere in the 2.2 to 2.6 range and you have done that.

most important is to have the midrange 40-70-80 as good as you can … then get decent blacks that are not green or red …

I looked in the Service Menu Forum and can’t find anything on the smaller Vizio’s. Has anyone else worked on these lower end Vizio’s and knows how to access Service Menu?
