The Quantum Data 802BT with HDMI is sweet but expensive. Occasionally one can be found on ebay for pretty cheap. I made a lot of custom test patterns for it.
The DPG’s are frustratingly slow in comparison to a generator controlled via serial cable. I bought a DPG1000 and upgraded it to a DPG1200, and I didn’t notice much speed improvement. Maybe I didn’t do everything right. But, they do get the job done eventually, and they have one super nice bonus: the DPG can show video clips as well. So if you have the right software you can put some Blu Ray demo clips on it.
