I like using the demo clips from Digital Video Essentials. One clip places more emphasis on blacks or shadow detail, and the other more on subtle variations in white…not to mention ample flesh tones. I have watched the demo clips so much, I know what to be looking for. I like it as all my clips are on the same disc. For warm up, I will use the Blu-ray “Home”. It is shot in 16:9 and it has very striking visuals. Usually wows the clients. If I am listening for audio demo material, I usually listen to a compilation of music as well as Master and Commander. I know many people will also use the Dark Knight for shadow detail shots. The parking garage scene is particularily useful in my opinion.
