I attended a Colorado Rockies game recently and there were repeated standing waves during the game. As the people stood up, I could see that their chairs were different colors in the various seating sections around the ball park. This did not seem to reduce or inhibit the standing waves at all. Actually I think the whole wave craze was cooked up by the vendors, considering how much beer and food must get spilled during this excercise.
