    Hi Gang,
I was wondering if anyone has done a 3D calibration with a meter such as the i1Pro. It seems hanging the glasses in front of the meter would yield some inconsistent results because, from what I understand, viewing angle is important. Also, what did you use for patterns?

Maybe, Gregg or Michael or some other ace calibrator could post a quick tutorial.

    Thanks.

The article in the May/June issue of Widescreen Review is really great. Lots of food for thought for evaluating 3D displays (especially for those writing reviews and such).

Not sure if that really addresses the question I asked, though, about whether in those instances where one can use a 2D->3D conversion, a true 3D pattern offers better results for calibrating a display. Certainly the AVFoundry’s Video Forge seems to offer all of the patterns you could ask for, include 3D and 3D ‘flat’ patterns. But, is it really necessary to spend $2500 on something like that to calibrate a display in 3D mode?

How about using a new Panasonic BD player with 2D-3D conversion? with say the AVS test disc?
