Calibrated (tried anyway) an anthem ltx500 yesterday.

Menu exactly like the JVC RS20. So I went about trying the usual JVC methods. Selected User1 as the base, custom greyscale. Adjusted 100% white using the gains. Then when I tried correcting the 50% using the 11point system I ran into a problem (custom gamma). When I adjusted 50% green say down a couple of points then move to 60% green the 50% green adjustment moves back to the original setting! I have done a couple of newer JVCs and did not see the same behaviour.

Anytime I adjusted one point and move to the next point the older point would go up again. Also the CMS seemed to be broken as well. Saturation does not move green saturation one bit, but red saturation does move in when saturation is adjusted for red.

Is anyone aware how I can check the firmware/software revision as it was not shown in the info. I read a review by Chris Eberle that stated there were bugs in the software rev 1 that was resolved in software rev 1.1

Will shoot a note to Anthem but they don’t support the pj anymore and am concerned that I would be left with no alternative but to suggest a video processor to the client.

    Edit :

Found the v1.1 in the archived sections. Could someone let me know how I can check the current version on the pj?

    Venkatesh,
Easiest way I found to check the firmware is ..look in the CMS controlls.
If CMS sliders go to 30 then firmware 1.0
If CMS sliders go to 60 then Firmware 1.1

    Hope this helps

Thanks Ray. Will confirm with the client before I reschedule a visit.

    Ray,

Confirmed during a reschedule that it was indeed the older firmware (sliders go the 30), however, I could not carry out the firmware upgrade as the driver failed to load for the anthem to be recognized by the laptop. This was a windows 7 and the instruction said that if the driver fails to load automatically to manually update but the driver files were not in the package as the instructions claim. Anyone run into this problem? Else would need to contact Anthem on this one.

    Thanks
