If I currently have a C6 and i1Pro for profiling is a BasICColor going to be any more accurate/consistent for the price difference?

If I profile a BasICColor to an i1Pro is there any difference between the Spectracal version and the generic version you can get for $1200? and will it work on Plasma/LCD/LED?

Mainly only calibrate PC Monitors/LCD/Plasma (no Projectors or RPTV)

in all cases, you still have to profile it to make sure it works right. The calibration tables … don’t work very well on their own. As in sometimes they work okay and sometimes they are way off, but you won’t know unless you have a spectro to verify. And if you have a spectro … then you profile it and it works all the time.

I don’t know about a retail version of the disccus … sometimes there is a difference between OEM and retail … and of course there is support. Spectracal will be better positioned to help you with what you need done.

The disccus likely will not drift as much over time, better filters inside.

The c6 has been shown to be almost an exact match for the i1 pro or jeti or anything else it is profiled to. Sometimes some businesses need gear at a higher level simply to make clients feel better.

What about the C6 not being as consistent with reading to reading even if profiled. I can measure 100% White and get a different reading everytime, all the readings are close and usually withing 1-3% but still different. Is this going to still be true with the BasICColor or any other meter?

If I measure 100% White with my i1Pro I get much more similar consistent readings when compared to a profiled C6 (is it possibly a software setting on the CalMan side?)

It’s true of my CS200 and my jeti 1211 …there is always some bounce in the readings due to changes in voltage on the tv … movement in the test pattern … look close … it moves …

the c6 can be set to take 3 to 5 readings and give you an average of the readings.

    Regards
