InactiveOk, with the impending release of CalMan 4.0 on Monday (I do believe), it might be informative and worth posting on this site how to download and run the software independently without interferring with v3.6 or v3.7 or whatever you have. For those in the know, do you just download it as you normally would or do you have to send it to a speacial folder created? I, for one, wish to keep the current version of CalMan running in addition to 4.0. Reason I ask is that I recently downloaded 3.7 just to try it out to see if I liked it as I was quite happy with 3.5 (I am CalMan old school…I remember the days of 3.0…man those were the days :)). I sent it to a special folder, but it still sought out and destroyed my version 3.5 leaving me stuck with 3.7. All worked out fine this time, but previous version downloads have not been so lucky. Needless to say, I was PO when this happened. Anyway, thanks to anyone who can provide info! 🙂

InactiveAll of our updates are upgrades over the existing version. But with v4 since it is a all new code base it will have it’s own updates and does not overwrite v3. So yes both v3 and v4 can be installed and used at the same time.

Thanks Derek. I’ll try to install on a Win7 64bit (CHT) OS then and see if it works.

The plan is to create a THX workflow as an add-on to the base v4 release. The THX workflow add-on will only be available from here for download.

Inactiveit’s in the RC2 version … out in the open for the moment. a work in progress as some parts of the program do not work right yet …
Eventually, the workflow reports will definitely identify the type of display that is being calibrated and the meter that was used for the calibration.
Think of the ones you see on RC2 as the prototypes … which will be refined later on as the program itself is whipped into better shape.
regards

InactiveThe RC3 is out now and more stable. IT has not crashed on any of the 6 computers that I am running it on at home.
What I did do for now was identify Phone #1 and Phone #2 areas as the TV maker and model number. The probe used for the calibration will also show up in the report as will the person’s name.
The workflows are still in prototype stage … but here is one that will be added soon enough. The next version of the THX complete flow …
for now, I wouldn’t really bother with the THX CMS file or the THX Grayscale file. The THX complete one should take care of most needs …
If you don’t like the report pages … feel free to design your own. 🙂
Notice that I don’t walk you through the process like on the ISF side. You guys do not need any hand holding … just do it. 😀
Regards
