There is a weird Story about JVC Bulbs.

A friend of mine, a rather well known Blogger/Calibrator/Photographer just installed the 5th replacemente Bulb into his JVC X30 D-ILA Projector.
(Yes there are stable light engines out there!)

While measuring – he found out that the new Lamp only reaches about 900Lumens.
He contacted JVC for a replacement as the Lamp was supposed to deliver 1300Lumens.

The Support guy told him that the lamp would gain brightness over time.

    I would say rediculous.
What do you say? I always thought that lamp-behaviour was a one-way…and that it would simply loose brightness from day 1.

    Greetings TEX

I’ve never heard of a bulb getting brighter with age, though I have had a few students with this condition :-).

    THX Gregg…
    The answer I expected…

Honestly I haven’t heard such a stupid explanation from a support-company in a while…to justify bad Performance of a product.

Obviously the Company responsible for the JVC Service over here just wanted to get rid of somebodies requests…for a Lamp that works as it should..

    Greetings
    Martin
