    Questions about calibrating this PJ.

    SDR Calibration
First, if the gamma is not reasonable (some times it is, sometimes not) run the JVC auto calibrate on it, and then go back do a 2 point white balance. The JVC software will flaten out the gamma response, then you can correct the WB error from the spyder sensor manually. When you run the JVC auto software, do not do the color part of the auto cal, only do the gamma part.
Also when measuring gamma / gray scale, turn off the auto iris.

    HDR Calibration

This series of JVC does not do HDR well. You will need to create and load Arve curves into it by creating custom gammas and import. After you do this, you will have to manually select the custom gamma and import EVERY TIME the PJ goes into HDR mode. The PJ always goes to Gamma D after sensing and HDR signal. A work around to this is installing a HDFury Vertex, which is very cool and inexpensive, which will turn off the HDR flag on the HDMI signal but pass the signal and then tell the PJ to select the correct user mode via the RS232 connection. Good stuff. I will attach the ARVE Tool instructions to this post.

Here are some custom color space profiles that work with JVC. Note the RS400 does not have a color filter.
