Hello, anyone know the access codes for the service menu of the Optoma HD70 projector as well as any calibration tips for the CMS (assuming it has any color gamut controls), etc?
Thanks, Larry

On the remote control, input this sequence, using the power off and up/down arrow keys: OFF, UP, DOWN, UP, UP.
Select “Enable” to access the ISF Day and Night modes and to calibrate the projector. Select “Lock” to prevent unauthorized changes to the calibration settings. Select OFF to exit the ISF mode and return to standard operation without the ISF settings.
if this one has an ISF mode in it … if if … otherwise it is all out in the open. Optoma does not have cms.
Please go to the optoma site and look at the user manual there. I did. 🙂 (It’s 720 p … so no isf here)
regards

I had previously downloaded the user manual and the greyscale gain/bias controls are available in the open user interface which I adjusted successfully. The resulting picture was surprisingly good but with only 4 ftL of luminance.

Anyone know if this same method works on the Optoma HD8600/86 to enable the ISF modes. I downloaded the manual and it has ISF modes (but needs unlocking). It has a CMS that I am not quite sure works. I have a client request to calibrate the 86 in 2 weeks that I would like to unlock the ISF modes and leave it locked. Appreciate the feedback….
Thanks
July 22, 2011 at 2:31 am #2238AnonymousInactiveWanted to confirm that I could turn on the ISF modes on this using Michaels method, however the options were On/Off/Unlock. I could not lock it. Also on this unit that I worked on with a bulb that was 400hrs on a 120in diagonal screen I was only getting about 3ft/L at 100% white. Not sure if this is normal for a HD86. This is of course post calibration. I could get it to 9-10ft/L but it was way off.
July 22, 2011 at 2:38 am #2239AnonymousInactiveThe i1 pro is not very good at giving accurate light output readings on projectors. Rarely is a projector too bright after calibration. It just is what it is … and unless it hurts your eyes, the real number is completely irrelevant. Don’t worry about it.

The client was happy with the overall image but did say that it was dimmer than his older settings. However, he did understand that his old settings yielded a picture that was not as correct as it does post calibration.

Darker … sure … versus incorrect. There is reference … and there is preference.
