I wanted to pass on that I updated a 65VT50s firmware yesterday and then calibrated it. I changed panel brightness to Mid and got a virtually identical calibration to low brightness mode. My memory of a previous model VT30 was that when you started in “mid brightness” you also started with an expanded color gamut and could never achieve the same accuracy. This forced me to accept “low panel brightness” with 100 IRE measurements of only very low 20s or calibrate thx in service mode as Gregg mentioned. Now with the VT50 on mid brightness, I could get the same terrific result as low but with nearly 37foot lamberts! The only thing I was not super pleased with was the blue saturation control. Blue Luminance and Hue were great and I was still able to get a Delta E1994 under 2 though. Final images looked terrific.

    Greetings

Still beyond human perception … and considering the instrument is imperfect as well. 🙂
