Hi everyone
I thought it was about time I broke cover and posted a message. I’ve been calibrating a Panasonic GT30 46″ display, firstly in Professional1 mode for the night calibration without major incident. I thought i’d measure the THX mode and adjust in need via the service menu, to familiarize myself with this method. I’ve noticed that the 16:9 overscan setting is switched on and locked (greyed out). I’m somewhat surprised to see this as it’s contrary to what I was expecting. I went into the service menu to see what’s occurring and whether any options are available to switch the overscan off, which there aren’t unless I missed something.
I took a couple of pics of the service menu for my reference as I wanted to check some of the terms such as white balance method select.
I could do a daytime calibration on the Professional2 setting instead of the THX setting, but that’s the easier option and I won’t learn as much by doing it plus the THX setting will not be optimized. Any views/comments would be appreciated. For reference, the tv set belongs to me.Thanks
Paul
