InactiveOk all,
I am finally getting a chance to work on a 9G Elite (151) panel and I have a couple of questions.
1. I tried contacting turbe with no response. Regarding ControlCal, do I load P2 first, work on that and then work on P1?
2. Regarding the CMS, I see that controlcal only allows for what appears to be saturation with the control for each color. Is it possible to tint and brightness with this CMS interface? Does it work similar to the Samsung CMS system? However, it doesn’t seems to have the ability to control but one direction.
3. Are there certain things to watch out for from past experiences with this panel.
Thanks

InactiveDo page 1 first …then page 2 …
leave the cms alone … it only has tint controls … not sat or brightness.
color space 2 is most accurate …

InactiveThanks Michael! Just a couple more things now that I think about it. I was reading on the control cal forums that we should have it in color temp 6 in order to control RGB High/Low. Does the Low work on this panel when set at color temp 6, or is it similar to the 9G Non-Elites where the RGB Low doesn’t work so well?
Also, on the 9 step gamma, do we want to mess with that if need be, or just leave that one alone?
One more thing, for the ISF Day/Night, what PLUGE pattern is it suggested we use for each setting for brightness, and do we have to set ISF Day/Night for each input?
I hope that about sums up my questions.
Thanks!

Inactive6 = manual color temp
9 step … only mess with if you have greater than dE 3 in any of the levels … if not don’t bother.
or if gamma really bad
low pluge …
brightness typical at 0 for night and +2 or so for day time

InactiveThanks agian Michael! So, do I set ISFccc Day/Night for each input, and does the RGB Low work for this panel?
Thanks

Inactiveyes … rgb hi lo both work as you expect.
do high first … and may not have to do anything onthe low end … happens like that sometimes.
I do day and night and auto and just copy the stuff over … one input at a time … no big deal …

Keymasteryou have to do page 2 prior to page 1 ?? Page 2 has the Color space option.
you will be in for a world of pain if attempt to adjust the 9 point gamma adjustments.
The CMS controls are basically hue controls. You will not get the primaries perfect. All of them will only be moved 1-3 clicks for maximal improvement. Please note that if you move them too far (ie: green) you will start to affect your gray scale.
I would calibrate the Pure mode first (and get familar with the controls), then do the ISF day and night modes. the settings of each mode should be very close to being the same.

InactiveGregg,
Thanks! Somehow, I muddled through today, and got, what I thought, to be an almost textbook case for a clibration report. Everything turned out almost perfect…scarey! 😮 Enabled ISF Day/Night modes. I figured out how to do them after some playing. I already uploaded the report for your perusal. Best behaved panel I have done yet…however…it was a pain in the behind to do. Took roughly 5 hours.

Keymasterwow!! Well you made the learning curve…the next one will be half the time.
I saw you called me (caller ID) and I called you back….I got a “young” voice that told me to call back when you were home. -
