    All,

I received some very intersting news today. I cannot confirm this, so this is why is being posted on a closed site, and I ask that it remain in these boundaries until confirmed unless any of you guys are well informed regarding this story.

One of the dealers I service was a pretty good sized, direct from Pioneer, dealer. A big whig with Pioneer was recently in the shop, and they had a chance to quiz him regarding the video situation with Pioneer. Apparently, and again this is heresay since I did not hear it with my own ears, Pioneer did not sell the Kuro rights to Panasonic and they let none of their video engineers go. Word is, they are looking to produce a new panel for next year, and looking to stick specifically with the high end consumers ($6K-$8K panel) which they should have concentrated on the whole time in the first place. I surmized, based on tidbits in the conversation, that they may have done what they did to terminate the Best Buy connection (although that is just speculation on my part and may have no truth to it). Anyone else have more light to shed on this…or, in the words of Col. Potter, is this “horse hockey”?

    interesting thoughts.

They have already focused on the high end market….not sure how they can ignore Best Buy as I am sure that BB has sold more for them then all other channels combined ?

seems like quite a dramatic production to exit the market and then come back again. I’d be surprised if they came back.
