Pioneer Non-Elite service menu access

It has come to my attention that Pioneer has given service menu access codes on non-elite 9G’s to Best Buy calibrators, enabling gray scale adjustment.
Until now the only way to perform this adjustment was by purchasing ControlCal, which I personally have done.
If this is in fact true, I am in disbelief that Pioneer would offer this information to BB calibrators and not the true professionals in our industry.

From what I’ve heard, over at AVS, is that BB calibrators have been supplied Factory remotes and IR codes for Universal remotes to access the Pioneer PDP-5020/6020 Non-Elite panels.
Supposedly they only have access to the Performance and Standard mode memories.
