Can any one tell me if the DAY-CAL and NIGHT-CAL have been activated in the UK sets (via the service menu). In particular I would like to know if it has whether it works in the D6900, or whether it is a D8000 feature.

I have got a Samsung to calibrate tomorrow, and it is a while since I did the last, and I know we have recent firmware upgrades in the UK, and wondered if they had been activated (behing the scenes).

Is there any issues to be aware with in using these modes (if they are available)?

    Anyone know how to check?

    Thanks for your help.

Don’t know but might be able to pop into the sm and turn it on there … then you would know. 🙂 If you do not see it there … then not there. Usually one of the first two options at the top when you get into the sm.

Ricky, the expert option was greyed out on the D6900 I had a few weeks back. Did you try pestering Pedro? Reckon he probably owes you 😀

    Thanks,

I did get in contact with Pedro, and he does not think they are activated.

The green on the CMS was a bit of a shame otherwise it was a good calibration.

A bit of a hue error with green was my only minor disappointment really, but over all, I was hugely impressed – for the price tag!

Agreed, it is just a shame when everything else pulls in nicely (and the D8000 can pull in green as well). Don’t get me wrong, I am being pedantic, the dE was around 3 overall from green on the CMS, so probably below the level of visual recognition anway.

Agreed. the picture was excellent when I finished. The dynamic range was good. It had a better light output than the Panasonics (in pro modes), and for the price/performance situation in the UK, if someone is looking for a 50″+ plasma set in the UK, I always tell people to look at the D6900 as well as the D8000, GT30 and VT30 at this time.
