Has anyone worked on one of these yet? What is the buzz?
The owners manual says it has a full CMS and 10 point greyscale and some gamma adjustment. I hope everything works as advertised.

The 10 point may not work right so watch out. CMS is close … but keep eye on it.

Old guys can’t hear a buzz anyway … and you certainly couldn’t fix it.

    regards

I think I should be insulted but I can’t remember. Thanks Michael.

Well I worked on the 70″ pro model yesterday. The THX mode out of the box was not impressive. Some large dE’s with both greyscale and gamut. I did use the low local dimming feature during calibration. The 10pt greyscale either didn’t work at all or worked in very fine increments. I thought it was the former and so I did not use it. The color controls seems to work well with luminance on all colors very good. Overall, no colors over 1.5 dE. I did not find the magic button to turn off the yellow pixel. It made the green window look like lime. Gamma was about 2.2 and relatively flat.

Not impressed with this $8,500 model.

Wow. Interesting report. Appreciate the info. I have one scheduled for the end fo the week. Per the customers request I will be calibrating isf day/night and THX. He has already reported that he was not impressed with OOB picture. He tried to watch football this weekend and said Dynamic mode was the only one that was worth using for sports. In his opinion THX was only usable for movies at night. Of course I will report my findings on this site.

    Don,
Let me know how the ISF stuff goes. Are you going to try the IR method or RS232? The ISF information from Joel looks a little sketchy, not enough detail for me.

I was going to use the remote. Really not lots of info in the docs except for the password to unlock the isf. I will definitely post my findings and results.
