hi Michael
I do not know. the controls are not present in the user menu ?
Usually displays that are less than 28″ in size are not a part of the HT division of the company and are part of the computer division (and therefor very different animals).
i will ask Bruce from Toshiba to surf by for an opinion.
I just attempted to calibrate the probably similiar Toshiba 19SL410U with LED backlighting. Although it appeared to have a complete and working CMS in the advanced user menu, there are no apparent GS/white balance controls. The white balance is way off especially at the high end of the GS with a DE of over 25 at 100%. I also have been unable to enter the service menu to search for white balance controls.
Grayscale can be done if they don’t give you all 6 controls … 3 on top and 3 on bottom. Two on top and two on bottom should be possible. if not … then crappy crappy tv. May have to spend $20 and buy service manual for it.
User manual shows Blue Driver and Green DRiver as all there is. These are your grayscale controls. Red held constant. Pick a mid level pattern and look for a best fit for all grayscale levels.
Thanks Michael. Yeah, I may have to spring for a service manual since there absolutely nothing in the way of grayscale controls in the user menus. However, the CMS worked pretty well with 18 controls. By the way I have not been able to find either a user guide (none came with the TV) or a service manual on the Toshiba site?
Larry Can you post your results for yours, I’ve got another 24″ model I’ll post my results shortly. just curious how accurate you got these crap TV’s. Also if you didn’t get a service manual I purchased one today and when I receive I’ll post a copy
Uploaded the best I could get with the limited 2 Drive Controls, I have blue as far negative and it’s still way to high. Will hopefully have the SM tomorrow and can redo. CMS worked pretty good for me just updating the secondaries
