I have an Eye One Pro with Rev D. What are the symptoms when your meter needs recertification?

I ask because I have been getting inconsistent results using Calman 4.3. I did a test with the Pro Workflow. I ran through the pre cal layout about 5-6 times over the course of a few hours. I re-initialized the meter before each run. The WB dE grew over the course of time from about 11 to 18. The gamut dE grew as well from about 12 to 16.

Then I used the greyscale layout in Pro Workflow and took 4-5 more reads and the dE stayed at about 17 plus or minus 1.

At this point, I don’t know what to trust. Any thoughts?

Projector or flat panel? Is it picking up heat from the panel? What are readings like immediately after dark readings …

    Michael,
The test was done on an LCD panel. I would say heat was a factor since I had the probe covered for light control.

i would not trust based on the large delta E variance. Get the error down to 1 2 or 3, then check for stability / repeatablity.

Vince, coming to CEDIA? Bring it by the training room and we can test it for accuracy.

    Gregg,
Thanks for your thoughts. I will not be attending CEDIA but I do look forward to your next trip to So Cal.

I will get the meter recertified and recheck the results.

    Vince,

Get together with Ray … and test your meter against his before you send it out. Both in the same area … or close enough.

    Regards

Ray and I talked this afternoon and he suggested I try the test again on a better display. This time I used my Panasonic G20 in the THX mode. The first two columns are from the pre cal layout, the third from greyscale layout and the fourth from the color management layout. It it the THX Complete workflow dated 7/25.

    PRE CAL
    RUN WB GAMUT WB GAMUT

    2 2.221 2.167 2.28 2.218
    3 2.469 2.226 2.408 2.264
    4 2.104 2.106 2.026 2.162
    5 2.732 2.198 1.892 2.277
    6 2.79 2.373 2.812 2.343

    Std Dev 0.2711 0.0894 0.339 0.09702

I looks like all is well.
Thanks to Michael, Gregg and Ray for your help

Sorry for the formating of the table. It looks perfect in the edit mode.
