Thanks Gregg, is there an auto calibration for Dolby Vision on Sony OLED displays? If so, are the settings completely separate from SDR and HDR10?

there are 2 softwares out there.
1 does gamma only. (see the Sony 695 calibration video).
The 2nd is much more robust but i could not figure out how to use it.

I will try to upload it here, if not here, email gregg@pva.tv for a copy.

    thanks!

Image Director 3 is the much more basic software for only manipulating the gamma.

    Welcome to ImageDirector!

    Getting Started
This file contains the latest information and technical updates concerning ImageDirector. Read this file before using ImageDirector.

    ——–
    Features
    ——–

ImageDirector is a software that allows you to adjust projector’s gamma value to your satisfaction from a computer connected to the projector by adjusting the luminance curve of the incoming signal. In addition to just using the gamma value that has been adjusted and preset at the factory, you can also adjust the gamma curve yourself, while keeping the default value, and apply the adjusted value to other projectors. You can then save this adjusted value to your computer.
New in ImageDirector3 is a feature that allows you to adjust the gamma value in more detail by selecting any point on gamma curve.

    Hello

A few things I don’t understand. Just started using the software. How do you connect a sensor to this software? One that is not one of the 2 recommended by the software? How do you set gamma points if you are not able to measure within the software?

Do I need to open 2 PCs? One that run Sony’s software, and the other would run Calman with a calibrated sensor to monitor the results, and thus be able to accurately and manually set each gamma points?

you only use the software to manipulate data / settings. You also have to use CalMan or other software to do measurements.

Many softwares are like this, many years ago I used to use 2 laptops, one to talk to the display and the other for performing measurements. Over time I got comfortable enough to only use 1 laptop. (also depends on other factors like your screen size and resolution).
