I calibrated the THX mode, adjusting gray scale on the service side. It is the same procedure I have used on the last few lines of Panny PDP’s. 😡
I have to calibrate a new TC-P65VT25. How did you access the service menu on the one you calibrated? The SM assess instructions for previous Panasonic models shown on THX Video Tech don’t seem to work.

InactiveStill the same … I have not had issues accessing the VT25s on my end.

InactiveHold the vol – button on the left side of the TV then hit the info button 3 times on the remote. I did a 65″ vt25 a month ago.

Keymasterive always used the universal remote….works like a charm and you dont have to get off your butt !! 🙂

InactiveWhich button on the universal remote is it Gregg a, b, c or d? And, do you have to get up to turn off the TV in order to exit the service menu or is the remote power button adequate?
Thanks

Keymasterhit a and then b to enter the service mode.
then cycle 1/2 to find the white balance paramter page….
the on screen menus will then tell you what you need to do.
9 button to cycle to the various modes.
3/4 buttons to select parameter
vol up and down to change the value of the parameter.THEN HIT THE C button to save.
After this…you will have to get off your butt and hold the power button down on the display until the unit recycles.

InactiveFYI…Dave Abrams just posted on AVS that the new software release from Panny(?) allows you to now be able to calibrate the ISF modes apparently.

InactiveYes, David has confirmed those issues have been resolved with the latest firmware. If you want/need to add the VT25 ISFccc Profile for ControlCAL (released a couple months back), email me: Turbe AT ControlCAL.com
or if you need additional information.September 12, 2010 at 12:57 am #1089Gregg Loewen
Keymasterhi guys
I will confirm that the interface now works.
It is a bit buggy. If you change the gamma preset, you will have to redo the gray scale work.
ensure that the out of C3 interface measurments are the same as while in the interface mode.September 13, 2010 at 8:16 pm #1078Anonymous
InactiveI have a follow up appointment scheduled for this Friday and I will be utilizing the latest version of the ControlCAL profile along with the latest firmware update on the VT25. I’ll report what I find as well.

InactiveHi all,
I have a couple of questions for those that have used the C3 controls through ControlCal:
1. What values should Panel Brightness, Video NR, BLUR REDT, and AGC be set to for optimal settings?
2. Regarding the CMS, how do I select the individual colors are is all you have Sat and Hue for the primaries with no way to control luminance or the secondaries? I guess what I am asking, does this CMS work similarily to the Samsung CMS?
I would appreciate any suggestions you may have. Thanks!

InactiveI had decent results calibrating a VT25 with the updated ControlCAL profile in conjunction with the latest firmware.
The ISF modes worked well. Having all of the controls on a single page made the process a bit more convenient. I was able to achieve good grayscale results in 2D mode. I wasn’t able to see a change with the cut controls in 3D mode. Maybe someone will have an opportunity to test this further. I utilized the gamma adjustment and was able to achieve a higher overall gamma response. The one thing I did notice is that linearity wasn’t as good as the THX mode. When I initially calibrated this particular display back in June I achieved a fairly uniform gamma response, averaging 2.13. With the gamma adjustment, now available with the ISF modes, I achieved an average gamma of 2.27. However, the gamma values slowly and steadily lowered as I advanced to higher stimuli.
The CMS system is incomplete. There are controls labeled saturation and hue, but only for Red, Green and Blue. I was able to achieve good, but not great, results. I didn’t invest alot of time trying to manipulate these controls as the color points were already pretty close. I noticed large adjustments did begin to affect grayscale. What I really wanted to fix was the luminance levels but wasn’t able to successfully. I much prefer true 18 control CMS systems from Samsung, JVC, etc.I set Video NR and Blur Reduction to OFF. One thing to be aware of: I set the panel brightness adjustment to a higher value for the day setting. I discovered that after exiting ControlCal (and yes you need to do this to take accurate measurements) the panel was really dim. By toggling to the ISF-Night mode and then toggling back to the ISF-Day mode, this issue was corrected. (Reminded me of the old contrast adjustment trick in some of the Mits. DLP’s)

InactiveLee,
Do you have any photos of how you attached the glasses to the eye one? I’m curious. -
