Keymasterhey Adam
thanks!!
I will add this to the code area.Gregg Loewen
Keymasterthat makes since. ( I guess).
I center the brightness control and and adjust the contrast control in the user menu. I then adjust the brightness by using the cut all control in the service mode.

Keymaster1. CCA = custom color adjustment (or something like that ).
2. no…secondaries also need to be set. the tool on the http://www.accupel.com site will caliculate the secondary points for you. We also gave you the target points in class (in the slide presentation).
Please note that if the lumenance values (large Y) are not accurate you can have inaccurate colors despite their xy locations being correct. (remember the Epson demo).

Keymasteryes….you pretty much answered the question I would have for you.
Do you know the limitations of the gear that you own ??
When you are done, do shades of gray look like shades of gray ?
How does Jennifer look ??
etc

Keymasterwhere you can get the most light from the screen….try 1-2 feet back for FPs. It can be in contact with flat panels and RPTVs.

Keymasterwhich model of plasma are you wanting this for ?
On everything made in the past 4 years (at least), the color decoder is quite accurate. It was these controls on the oldest crt RPTVs that they were very useful (do to red push).
Basically, use the color control to adjust the red. Use the tint control to adjust tint (as usual). And the other controls to adjust red hue and blue saturation.
I can not remember the 4 controls for adjustment right now (off the top of my head).
Remember that you can color isolate, so this helps greatly. Try to adjust the color control first using blue isolation, then check red and green. On all late model units, this will get you quite close. Make sure you get the gray scale on first and also turn off the auto color in the user menu.

Keymasteryou will have to set the black level on a low level APL pattern, other wise dark scenes will look like crap.
removing red from 10 ire should only take a click or 2 from the cut controls, and or a click or 2 from the black level control.

KeymasterHi Doug
No sense in measuring primaries and secondaries if you can not adjustment. It is like starting to obsess over things that you have no control over. (becareful).
When you enter the service mode the set defaults to vivid mode (or whatever). Once you get to the drive / cuts then you will have to reselect the cinema mode to calibrate.
Hope this helps??
Perhaps Michael can chime in.
