KeymasterHere are some custom color space profiles that work with JVC. Note the RS400 does not have a color filter.

This series of JVC does not do HDR well. You will need to create and load Arve curves into it by creating custom gammas and import. After you do this, you will have to manually select the custom gamma and import EVERY TIME the PJ goes into HDR mode. The PJ always goes to Gamma D after sensing and HDR signal. A work around to this is installing a HDFury Vertex, which is very cool and inexpensive, which will turn off the HDR flag on the HDMI signal but pass the signal and then tell the PJ to select the correct user mode via the RS232 connection. Good stuff. I will attach the ARVE Tool instructions to this post.

Keymasteryou do a 2 point gray scale adjustment in the White balance menu. The Arve creates a custom gamma curve which you then upload to the PJ. You will need to select custom gamma and Import to use this custom gamma

I teach this technique in the HDR portion of the class. Do not use the JVC software…
you want to do Arve curves, with the Arve software. I will attach directions here.
This series of PJs works well with the JVC software if the JVC gamma is not good out of the box (seems to deteriorate over time…but only some times).Gregg

Decently priced is a relative term.
The Murideo units are a great value and will work with both Calman and Chromapure, and will do DV, HDR10, and HLG.
The retail on these are $2500 but I can get a demo unit that can be discounted. Please email me.Gregg

KeymasterFirst,
ensure the Murideo is set to RGB Video, or 444/420/422
Then
if you can not see below step 16, (after increasing the brightness control), look for a setting on the PJ that will allow you to see below step 16. This may be the HDMI setting, sometimes a picture mode. Not all PJs will allow for a below step 16 signal to be shown on the screen…ie JVC PJs do not allow for this in the THX mode. That is okay, just set the black level so the steps above 16 are barely visible.

Keymasteri think you are meaning you can not see below step 16?
Meaning that the signal is being cut off or you are in RGB PC mode.
nothing to do with the HDCP.
Look for a limited vs extended setting and also ensure you are sending RGB video or 444 422 420 signal.February 22, 2018 at 3:11 pm in reply to: Toshi Ogura – Sony HDR Engineer – Slide Presentation #3225Gregg Loewen

Keymasterhi guys
I have also heard of this on Sony’s too.
I redid 2 400s last week (1 year check ups). the first unit had went from gamma 2.4 to 2.1 (with the 2.6 preset)….i did the auto cal and got it back in shape.
The 2nd unit was about the same as it was last year. Weird.Gregg Loewen
Keymasterhi Nathan. I think the new Samsung’s are all BT1886 as a preset and then 20 point?
When doing a 10 point adjustment, select 20 points in ChromaPure or Calman and you will be able to better see how the points between the different levels of adjustment are being affected.Gregg Loewen
Keymasterhi Eric.
I am just seeing your post now. I do not remember any fix….it would be great if there were one.
Has anybody heard of one ?Gregg

The C6 will only work with CalMan (designed that way with proprietary drivers).
The best solution for you is the i1pro2 and a Chroma3 meter, just get a new one and it has the same luminance tolerances.Gregg
