    hi Amir
Steve is correct, for the most part. A 3D LUT is going to be more accurate however consumer displays do not have the ability to have a LUT so we work with what is available to us.

hi Amir…it depends on what the source is…..as of right now….
pretty much all 4K is at rec 709 with Gamma of 2.4 (BT1886).
HDR does not exist in 1080p, only in UHD. HDR specifies a larger gamut than 709 but it is not yet standardized.

Ive been speaking with Datacolor….they have no knowledge of the JVC software. They have also told me that the s4 probe has not been produced for more than 1 year. ….Ill keep updating here as I learn more.

not hard to calibrate…just use HDMI and input the same settings (Cont and brightness) in the SDI input. make sure you have the flicker free set correctly, otherwise the black level will be incorrect.

To access the ISF mode on our gear follow this procedure:

    1) Bring up the setup menu
    2) Select VIDEO
    3) Select PICTURE ADJUST
    4) Select either ISF DAY or ISF NIGHT
    5) Hold down the INFO button on the remote for 6 seconds to bring up the picture adjustment options

The picture settings are stored as soon as you make them.

    Hi julian!
Easy to test….just use the color checker patterns in ChromaPure or Calman. The patterns measure the deltaE values of 18 different flesh tones.
When you do a calibration do the measurements with and without the flesh tone adjustment in place. This would be a very easy test to scientifically verify whether Vincent if FOS or not (Im guessing that he is).

On a related note….if he really knew his S@@@ he would already be using the colorchecker to verify and quantify his claims.

    hi Martin
I dont know about the “on top of” part…perhaps V can assist with this.
The ISF software allows for 10 point gamma and gray scale adjustment.
